Keep Your Distance

It is a good rule of thumb to keep 6 feet away from others.

Keep Hands Clean

Wash your hand regularly throughout the day for 20 seconds. Keep your hands away from your face in order to prevent the virus from entering your eyes, nose and mouth.

Keep Good Oral, Throat, and Nasal Hygiene

Gargle with Listerine (original) or a 0.23% Povidone-iodine solution and keep your nasal cavity clean.

Keep Hydrated

It is important to drink eight, 8-ounce glasses of water a day.  Also, it is suggested that you sip warm water throughout the day. 

Decrease Stress

Maintain good nutrition, increase your fruits and vegetables, and decrease sugary food intake .

Flu Tool Kit

  • Supplement with antioxidants (i.e. bioflavonoids, N-acetylcysteine), vitamin C, vitamin D and Zinc. 
  • Eat beta glucans found in fungi (mushrooms and yeast) and grains (oats).
  • Colostrum supplement from cows’ milk has also reported an immune benefit.

Keep Counter Tops, Doorknobs, Light Switches, Handrails and Cell Phones Clean

 The virus can live on surfaces for as long as 9 days and may survive longer in cold temperatures.  

Keep Clothing Clean

  • Wash clothes daily in order to prevent contamination of other clothing.
  • Separate outdoor clothing from those worn indoors; shoes too!
  • Running dry clothes through the dryer on high a second time can kill the virus.

Watch for Symptoms

Be on the Offense, whether you have been affected by prostate cancer or not. if you start to experience symptoms as described HERE, such as an increase in temperature (99.1°F [37.3°C] or higher), persistent cough, or shortness of breath, you need to call your doctor.
